Banned Books with Mayhem Bound Bookshelf

Vicki Woodard of Mayhem Bound Bookshelf joins us every other Sunday to discuss a challenged or banned book, raise awareness of the efforts to dismantle our public and school library systems and limit access to literature and knowledge.

Resources

With more than 200 partner organizations and tens of thousands of individual supporters, Unite Against Book Bans connects, equips, and mobilizes the public to advocate in their communities for the right to read and to defeat attempts at every level of government to censor reading material.

PEN America has documented more than 10,000 instances of book bans since the fall of 2021. Whether you’re a teacher, a librarian, a parent, a student, an author or a concerned citizen, these resources will help you join in the fight against censorship.

The ALA Mission: To provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and to ensure access to information for all.
